Dr. Phillip W. Lockhart, Sr. Foundation
The Dr. Phillip W. Lockhart, Sr. Foundation is established to aid the endeavors of graduating high school students in underserved communities who are attending college and demonstrate an interest in what Dr. Lockhart was most passionate about – higher education. Dr. Lockhart devoted himself to helping students achieve heights otherwise thought impossible. Dr. Lockhart dreamed of seeing every student that entered the doors of his school leave with the idea that attending college was not only possible but necessary.

who we are
Why Give?
The Dr. Phillip W. Lockhart Sr. Foundation uplifts students in underserved communities, beginning with the Delta, by carrying forward Dr. Lockhart’s belief that education changes lives. Our support goes beyond scholarships. Through writing workshops, Math ACT prep, and other learning opportunities, we help students build skills, confidence, and a strong foundation for college success.
Your gift fuels this work. It helps students discover their potential and step into their future with courage and direction. Led by his wife, Rashaun Gavion-Lockhart, the foundation continues Dr. Lockhart’s legacy of empowering young people and transforming communities through education.
